The Climbing Station, Loughborough

Case overview

The Climbing Station is a large indoor climbing facility in Loughborough. The problem with large indoor climbing facilities is that photos don’t translate the scale — you get a wall, or a corner, or a bouldering area. You don’t get the whole picture.

I pitched an FPV fly-through as the solution.

Delivered

The Shoot

The shoot was before opening to avoid disrupting members. The video starts outside — the sign, the entrance — then flies through the front door and works through the entire facility: the walls, the bouldering area, the café, the shop, and back out to the sign. One continuous shot, every part of the business, looping cleanly back to the start.

When I arrived, the maintenance team were mid-session — stripping and washing the grips on one of the sections, which happens on a weekly rotation. We kept filming. If anything it worked in their favour — it’s the kind of detail that shows a well-run facility without anyone having to say so.

Deliverables

I delivered multiple versions: a full 4K cut for the website and speed-ramped edits for social, paced to hold attention on platforms where a slow-burn venue tour won’t survive.

Climbing centres are a natural fit for this kind of work. If you run one and want to see what a fly-through could look like for your space, get in touch.
