Aerial and FPV Coverage of Aston Martin Nottingham's Silverstone F1 Screening

In July 2025, Aston Martin Nottingham hosted an exclusive live screening of the British Grand Prix at Binks Yard, a riverside venue in Nottingham. I provided aerial and FPV drone coverage alongside a ground-level videographer, delivering event footage in both landscape and vertical formats for use across Aston Martin Nottingham’s marketing channels.

Delivered

The Event

Aston Martin Nottingham — part of the Sytner Group and awarded Global Dealer of the Year — brought together clients and enthusiasts at Binks Yard to watch the Silverstone race live. Aston Martin vehicles on display, a riverside setting, and the atmosphere of a race day watch party. The brief was to capture the scale, energy, and premium feel of the event from the air while a separate videographer covered crowd reactions and ground-level moments.

What I Captured

Wide establishing shots showing the full venue layout, including a river-crossing reveal — flying over the water to open up the event space and place it in the context of the Nottingham riverside. Closer aerial passes picking out the cars on display, the screening setup, and the crowd watching the race. And an FPV tour of the event weaving through the venue, capturing the energy and layout in a single continuous sequence.

Working as Part of a Team

This project is a good example of how drone operation integrates with a wider production crew. While a dedicated videographer handled crowd reactions and ground-level coverage, I focused on aerial and FPV work. The two complement each other — ground footage captures the personal, human moments while aerial and FPV provides scale, context, and visual impact.

For event clients working with an existing videographer, I can slot in as a specialist drone operator. For clients who need the full package, I handle both.

Multi-Format Delivery

All footage was delivered in both landscape and vertical formats. Landscape for website, YouTube, and LinkedIn. Vertical cuts for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and Stories. For event content especially, vertical delivery matters — attendees share on mobile-first platforms, and delivering both formats from a single shoot means maximum use from every piece of footage.

Case overview

My Student Digs asked me to produce video content for two of their newly renovated Leicester city centre properties — Oxford House on Oxford Street and their Friar Lane house — for use on their website and social media.

For student accommodation, location is everything. Both properties sit within minutes of DMU and Leicester Royal Infirmary, but telling potential tenants that in a bullet point is one thing. Showing it is another. I produced a set of videos that combine FPV fly-throughs, traditional drone footage, and in-post CG graphics to place each property in context — 3D text and location markers tracked to the footage, showing exactly where the key landmarks sit relative to the front door.

Delivered

Oxford House

Oxford House had finished its full renovation the same morning I arrived to film. I shot a speed-ramped FPV fly-through of the empty building and a full showcase video combining FPV, traditional camera work, and aerial footage — with the CG proximity graphics built in post.

Friar Lane

The Friar Lane property required obtaining flight clearance from HM Prison Leicester, whose flight restriction zone covers the area. That process took around a month to arrange. The resulting video focuses on the outdoor yard space and the property’s proximity to DMU, shot with traditional drone.

All three videos were delivered ready for web and social.

Case overview

The Climbing Station is a large indoor climbing facility in Loughborough. The problem with large indoor climbing facilities is that photos don’t translate the scale — you get a wall, or a corner, or a bouldering area. You don’t get the whole picture.

I pitched an FPV fly-through as the solution.

Delivered

The Shoot

The shoot was before opening to avoid disrupting members. The video starts outside — the sign, the entrance — then flies through the front door and works through the entire facility: the walls, the bouldering area, the café, the shop, and back out to the sign. One continuous shot, every part of the business, looping cleanly back to the start.

When I arrived, the maintenance team were mid-session — stripping and washing the grips on one of the sections, which happens on a weekly rotation. We kept filming. If anything it worked in their favour — it’s the kind of detail that shows a well-run facility without anyone having to say so.

Deliverables

I delivered multiple versions: a full 4K cut for the website and speed-ramped edits for social, paced to hold attention on platforms where a slow-burn venue tour won’t survive.

Climbing centres are a natural fit for this kind of work. If you run one and want to see what a fly-through could look like for your space, get in touch.

Case overview

Eagle Carpets has been trading on Lockhurst Lane in Coventry for over 40 years. It’s a proper independent flooring showroom — large, well-stocked, the kind of place that’s genuinely impressive once you’re inside but hard to communicate from the outside.

I was brought in by Digition, a branding and production agency, as part of a wider rebrand and content project. The brief was to produce footage that could work in multiple contexts — a standalone fly-through, but also individual runs that their team could cut together with traditional camera work for social content. One shoot, plenty of material.

Delivered

The Brief

The fly-through starts on the street outside, picking up the shopfront and signage before moving through the front door. Inside, it works through the full showroom — hardwood and laminate near the entrance, then aisle after aisle of carpet rolls, through to the back of the store where they stock artificial grass before looping back round to the front and pulling back in a rising exterior shot. Every part of the business, in sequence.

I also took traditional drone shots of the exterior for the same content pool. Everything was delivered as raw footage, ready for Digition’s editors to work with alongside their own ground-level material.

FPV Tour, Social Media Reels, and Photography for Shooters Range Leicester

Shooters Range is Leicester’s indoor airsoft target shooting experience — electronic targets, competitive game modes, and full-metal replica guns in a controlled environment. They needed content that showed what the venue actually looks and feels like, targeted at the different audiences who book sessions. I produced an FPV fly-through, six pre-planned social media reels, 21 photographs, and a website header video.

Delivered

FPV Fly-Through

An immersive single-take tour of the venue, flying through the lanes and across the shooting positions. For an indoor space like this, FPV does something that standard video can’t — it puts the viewer inside the experience before they’ve even booked. The flight was planned in advance with propeller guards fitted for safe indoor operation around the equipment and lanes.

Social Media Reels

Six pre-planned reels, each targeting a different audience segment. Shooters Range attracts a mix of visitors — families, stag and hen parties, team-building groups, date nights, birthday celebrations, and competitive shooters. Rather than producing one generic promotional video, we planned six short pieces that each speak directly to a specific group, using a mix of FPV and standard camera footage.

Pre-planning the reels meant every shot had a purpose. Each reel was scripted to a specific audience, specific platform, and specific call to action — not just random clips cut to music.

Photography

21 photographs showing the venue from multiple angles — the lanes, the electronic target systems, the gun packages, and the wider space. A mix of wide shots for website headers and marketing materials, and tighter detail shots of the equipment for social media and booking pages. The goal was to give Shooters Range a library of images that cover every angle they’d need across their website, social media, and any print materials.

Website Header Video

A short, looping header video optimised for web — designed to sit behind text on the homepage and immediately communicate the energy of the venue. Colour graded to match the venue’s branding and delivered web-ready.

Why Pre-Planned Content Outperforms

Turning up and filming whatever looks good produces generic content. Pre-planning means every piece has a job to do.

Targeted

Each reel speaks to a specific audience, not a general one

Efficient

Planned shoots get more usable content from less time on-site

Consistent

Colour grading, framing, and tone match across every deliverable

Strategic

Content designed around the client’s actual booking audiences, not just what looks cinematic
