Showcasing a Facility Upgrade at One of the UK's Largest Anaerobic Digestion Plants

Generate Upcycle operates waste-to-value facilities across the UK and internationally, turning food waste into renewable energy and organic fertiliser. Following major upgrades to their Fernbrook Bio plant in Kettering — including new digesters, a feedstock hall, and gas upgrading systems — they needed fresh visual content to reflect the facility as it stands today.

Delivered

The Brief

Generate Upcycle’s Fernbrook Bio facility processes up to 100,000 tonnes of organic waste per year, producing enough electricity to power around 5,000 homes and gas to heat a further 6,000. After a significant round of upgrades, their existing website imagery no longer represented the facility accurately. They needed a comprehensive content package — stills, video clips, and a website header video — to update their online presence and support business development.

What I Delivered

38 High-Resolution Photographs

Covering the full facility from multiple angles and perspectives. A mix of wide aerial shots showing the site’s scale and close-up compositions using visual compression to add depth and impact. Every image colour graded and ready for web, print, and marketing use.

31 Video Clips

Combining traditional aerial footage with dynamic FPV close-ups of the facility’s infrastructure — digesters, feedstock areas, and operational equipment. These clips give Generate Upcycle a library of footage to pull from for future promotional videos, social media, and presentations.

Website Header Video

Edited, colour graded, and optimised for web delivery at 1920×1080, complete with a fallback poster image and implementation guide for their web developer.

Orthophoto Map

A geometrically corrected aerial composite of the entire facility. For a site of this scale, orthophotos are a practical tool for site planning, tracking infrastructure changes over time, coordinating with contractors, and giving stakeholders a clear top-down view of the operation without needing to arrange a site visit.

The Shoot

Industrial facilities of this scale present specific challenges. Active operations, heavy machinery, restricted zones, and the sheer size of the site all factor into planning. The Fernbrook Bio plant sits across a large footprint with infrastructure at varying heights — from ground-level processing areas to the tops of the digester tanks — which made a combination of aerial and FPV drones essential for capturing the full picture.

FPV drones allowed me to get close to structures and infrastructure in ways that traditional camera drones can’t — threading between tanks, flying low across processing areas, and capturing the industrial detail that communicates the scale and sophistication of the operation.

Why This Content Works

Accuracy matters.

For a facility that’s recently undergone major upgrades, outdated imagery undermines credibility. Generate Upcycle now has a complete, current visual library that accurately represents what clients, partners, and stakeholders will see when they visit.

Multiple uses from one shoot.

Rather than commissioning separate photo and video shoots, a single visit produced 38 photographs, 31 video clips, a website header video, and an orthophoto map — maximising the value of one day’s production.

Built for their team to use.

Everything was delivered in formats ready for immediate use: web-optimised video with developer implementation notes, high-resolution stills for print and digital, and video clips suitable for social media and presentations. No additional processing needed.

16 Videos. One Production Partner. How Roberts Group International (RGI) Built Their Video Library.

Since early 2024, I’ve produced 15+ videos for Roberts Recycling, the UK’s fastest-growing textile recycler. What started as a single corporate introduction video has grown into an ongoing content partnership covering sustainability, social impact, operations, and corporate communications. In this partnership, we’ve chased vans with FPV drones, filmed talking heads, interviewed members of the public and much more.

Delivered

Featured Project: 15 Years of Roberts Recycling

To wrap up 2025, Roberts Recycling asked me to produce a video that summarises what they do, what they’ve achieved in the last year, and what is yet to come. This project became a comprehensive corporate video which showcases the full range of what I can deliver in a single production.

The completed project combines scripted interviews with company directors, FPV facility tours, aerial footage of the operation, ground level videography, and custom CG graphics. The result is a piece of professional B2B content which will serve client presentations, media outreach, website and partnership development.

Production Included:

The Partnership

Roberts needed more than just an occasional video — they needed a reliable partner who could consistently deliver quality videos across different topics and could be trusted to work independently on-site.

Why This Partnership Keeps Working
Institutional knowledge saves time and money

After 13 projects, I understand Roberts’ brand voice, facility layout, safety protocols, and operational rhythms. Less setup time, faster filming, better value per video.

Same videographer, every time

I handle everything from capture to final edit. No handoffs, no inconsistency. Whether it’s a technical operations piece or a community impact story, the quality and brand voice stay consistent.

Multi-platform delivery as standard

Every video is delivered in formats optimised for where it’ll actually be used — landscape for LinkedIn and website, vertical cuts for Instagram and mobile-first platforms.

Ready to show what your facility can do?

We work with manufacturing and recycling businesses across the UK — from single videos to ongoing production partnerships.

Aerial and FPV Coverage of Aston Martin Nottingham's Silverstone F1 Screening

In July 2025, Aston Martin Nottingham hosted an exclusive live screening of the British Grand Prix at Binks Yard, a riverside venue in Nottingham. I provided aerial and FPV drone coverage alongside a ground-level videographer, delivering event footage in both landscape and vertical formats for use across Aston Martin Nottingham’s marketing channels.

Delivered

The Event

Aston Martin Nottingham — part of the Sytner Group and awarded Global Dealer of the Year — brought together clients and enthusiasts at Binks Yard to watch the Silverstone race live. Aston Martin vehicles on display, a riverside setting, and the atmosphere of a race day watch party. The brief was to capture the scale, energy, and premium feel of the event from the air while a separate videographer covered crowd reactions and ground-level moments.

What I Captured

Wide establishing shots showing the full venue layout, including a river-crossing reveal — flying over the water to open up the event space and place it in the context of the Nottingham riverside. Closer aerial passes picking out the cars on display, the screening setup, and the crowd watching the race. And an FPV tour of the event weaving through the venue, capturing the energy and layout in a single continuous sequence.

Working as Part of a Team

This project is a good example of how drone operation integrates with a wider production crew. While a dedicated videographer handled crowd reactions and ground-level coverage, I focused on aerial and FPV work. The two complement each other — ground footage captures the personal, human moments while aerial and FPV provides scale, context, and visual impact.

For event clients working with an existing videographer, I can slot in as a specialist drone operator. For clients who need the full package, I handle both.

Multi-Format Delivery

All footage was delivered in both landscape and vertical formats. Landscape for website, YouTube, and LinkedIn. Vertical cuts for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and Stories. For event content especially, vertical delivery matters — attendees share on mobile-first platforms, and delivering both formats from a single shoot means maximum use from every piece of footage.

]]>
Case overview

My Student Digs asked me to produce video content for two of their newly renovated Leicester city centre properties — Oxford House on Oxford Street and their Friar Lane house — for use on their website and social media.

For student accommodation, location is everything. Both properties sit within minutes of DMU and Leicester Royal Infirmary, but telling potential tenants that in a bullet point is one thing. Showing it is another. I produced a set of videos that combine FPV fly-throughs, traditional drone footage, and in-post CG graphics to place each property in context — 3D text and location markers tracked to the footage, showing exactly where the key landmarks sit relative to the front door.

Delivered

Oxford House

Oxford House had finished its full renovation the same morning I arrived to film. I shot a speed-ramped FPV fly-through of the empty building and a full showcase video combining FPV, traditional camera work, and aerial footage — with the CG proximity graphics built in post.

Friar Lane

The Friar Lane property required obtaining flight clearance from HM Prison Leicester, whose flight restriction zone covers the area. That process took around a month to arrange. The resulting video focuses on the outdoor yard space and the property’s proximity to DMU, shot with traditional drone.

All three videos were delivered ready for web and social.

Drone Coverage and Trailer Production for Nashville Days Country Music Festival

Nashville Days is a community-run country music festival held at Bridge House Barn in Kibworth, Leicestershire. After selling out in 2024, the festival returned in 2025 and I provided aerial and FPV drone coverage for the event. Alongside the footage delivered for the main event video, I also edited a promotional trailer using my drone footage combined with ground-level clips captured by guests and social media influencers.

Involvement

The Festival

A mix of camera drone and FPV footage covering the full scope of the event. Wide establishing shots showing Bridge House Barn and the festival layout. Closer passes over the crowd, the food stalls, the shopping vendors. Top-down shots of the line dancing. And FPV runs through the festival capturing the energy of the live bands and the atmosphere across the whole site.

The variety matters here — wide shots give context and scale, close-ups bring the viewer into the detail, and FPV ties it all together with movement and energy. Between them, these angles gave the organisers a library of clips to pull from rather than a single locked-off perspective.

Promotional Trailer

As well as delivering raw clips for the main event video, I edited a promotional trailer for the following year’s festival. This combined my aerial and FPV footage with ground-level content shot by attendees and social media influencers — phone footage, crowd reactions, close-ups of the bands.

Mixing professional drone footage with authentic ground-level content works well for festival promotion. The drone work provides the cinematic scale and production value, while the guest footage adds the raw, first-person energy that makes people want to be there. The result is a trailer that feels both polished and genuine.

Why Festival Coverage Works from the Air

Festivals are hard to capture from ground level alone. Drone footage fills the gaps.

Scale

Show the full event in a single shot, not just the stage or the crowd

Energy

FPV movement captures the atmosphere in a way static cameras can’t

Promotion

Aerial footage gives next year’s marketing material instant production value

Context

Place the event in its setting, showing potential attendees exactly what they’re buying a ticket for

]]>
Case overview

The Climbing Station is a large indoor climbing facility in Loughborough. The problem with large indoor climbing facilities is that photos don’t translate the scale — you get a wall, or a corner, or a bouldering area. You don’t get the whole picture.

I pitched an FPV fly-through as the solution.

Delivered

The Shoot

The shoot was before opening to avoid disrupting members. The video starts outside — the sign, the entrance — then flies through the front door and works through the entire facility: the walls, the bouldering area, the café, the shop, and back out to the sign. One continuous shot, every part of the business, looping cleanly back to the start.

When I arrived, the maintenance team were mid-session — stripping and washing the grips on one of the sections, which happens on a weekly rotation. We kept filming. If anything it worked in their favour — it’s the kind of detail that shows a well-run facility without anyone having to say so.

Deliverables

I delivered multiple versions: a full 4K cut for the website and speed-ramped edits for social, paced to hold attention on platforms where a slow-burn venue tour won’t survive.

Climbing centres are a natural fit for this kind of work. If you run one and want to see what a fly-through could look like for your space, get in touch.

The post Eagle Carpets, Coventry appeared first on Leicester Drone Pilot.

Case overview

Eagle Carpets has been trading on Lockhurst Lane in Coventry for over 40 years. It’s a proper independent flooring showroom — large, well-stocked, the kind of place that’s genuinely impressive once you’re inside but hard to communicate from the outside.

I was brought in by Digition, a branding and production agency, as part of a wider rebrand and content project. The brief was to produce footage that could work in multiple contexts — a standalone fly-through, but also individual runs that their team could cut together with traditional camera work for social content. One shoot, plenty of material.

Delivered

The Brief

The fly-through starts on the street outside, picking up the shopfront and signage before moving through the front door. Inside, it works through the full showroom — hardwood and laminate near the entrance, then aisle after aisle of carpet rolls, through to the back of the store where they stock artificial grass before looping back round to the front and pulling back in a rising exterior shot. Every part of the business, in sequence.

I also took traditional drone shots of the exterior for the same content pool. Everything was delivered as raw footage, ready for Digition’s editors to work with alongside their own ground-level material.

Wedding at Yeo Farm, Devon https://leicesterdronepilot.com/project/yeo-farm-wedding/ Thu, 26 Jun 2025 09:13:00 +0000 https://wordpress-1213033-6203339.cloudwaysapps.com/project/project011/ Wedding highlights film for a festival-style wedding at Yeo Farm, Kingsbridge — shot across three distinct parts of the day using FPV, camera drone, and traditional ground filming.

The post Wedding at Yeo Farm, Devon appeared first on Leicester Drone Pilot.

]]>
Case overview

Yeo Farm sits on 146 acres of South Devon countryside along the banks of the River Avon. Ceremony under a centuries-old oak tree, a tipi for the reception, live music, and an after party in the woods. Three very different parts to one day — and each needed a different approach to film properly.

The ceremony and reception called for more measured, grounded shooting. The evening party opened up for aerial work as the light faded. The after party in the woods was captured with traditional ground filming — handheld, close, fitting for the setting.

The highlights film draws from all three, cut to reflect how the day actually felt rather than how weddings are typically documented. Speeches were delivered separately.

FPV Tour, Social Media Reels, and Photography for Shooters Range Leicester

Shooters Range is Leicester’s indoor airsoft target shooting experience — electronic targets, competitive game modes, and full-metal replica guns in a controlled environment. They needed content that showed what the venue actually looks and feels like, targeted at the different audiences who book sessions. I produced an FPV fly-through, six pre-planned social media reels, 21 photographs, and a website header video.

Delivered

FPV Fly-Through

An immersive single-take tour of the venue, flying through the lanes and across the shooting positions. For an indoor space like this, FPV does something that standard video can’t — it puts the viewer inside the experience before they’ve even booked. The flight was planned in advance with propeller guards fitted for safe indoor operation around the equipment and lanes.

Social Media Reels

Six pre-planned reels, each targeting a different audience segment. Shooters Range attracts a mix of visitors — families, stag and hen parties, team-building groups, date nights, birthday celebrations, and competitive shooters. Rather than producing one generic promotional video, we planned six short pieces that each speak directly to a specific group, using a mix of FPV and standard camera footage.

Pre-planning the reels meant every shot had a purpose. Each reel was scripted to a specific audience, specific platform, and specific call to action — not just random clips cut to music.

Photography

21 photographs showing the venue from multiple angles — the lanes, the electronic target systems, the gun packages, and the wider space. A mix of wide shots for website headers and marketing materials, and tighter detail shots of the equipment for social media and booking pages. The goal was to give Shooters Range a library of images that cover every angle they’d need across their website, social media, and any print materials.

Website Header Video

A short, looping header video optimised for web — designed to sit behind text on the homepage and immediately communicate the energy of the venue. Colour graded to match the venue’s branding and delivered web-ready.

Why Pre-Planned Content Outperforms

Turning up and filming whatever looks good produces generic content. Pre-planning means every piece has a job to do.

Targeted

Each reel speaks to a specific audience, not a general one

Efficient

Planned shoots get more usable content from less time on-site

Consistent

Colour grading, framing, and tone match across every deliverable

Strategic

Content designed around the client’s actual booking audiences, not just what looks cinematic

Drone Photography and Mapping for a Commercial Land Sale

A landowner preparing a cleared commercial plot for sale needed more than a few ground-level photos for the listing. They wanted potential buyers to see the full site from every angle, understand the current condition — including remaining tree stumps and debris — and have a detailed map they could use to plan clearance and development work before committing.

Delivered

What I Delivered

1.
Aerial photographs from every angle

Showing the full extent of the plot, its boundaries, access points, surrounding context, and current condition. These images give prospective buyers an honest, complete picture of what they’re looking at — far more useful than ground-level shots that can’t communicate the shape and scale of a site.

2.
Video Flyover

Showing the entire plot, providing a continuous perspective of the land and its condition. Useful for sharing with buyers, planners, or contractors who can’t visit in person.

3.
A high-resolution orthophoto map

A geometrically corrected aerial composite stitched together from multiple drone passes. Unlike a standard photo taken at an angle, an orthophoto is dimensionally accurate, meaning distances and proportions are true to life. For potential buyers, this is a practical planning tool — they can assess the layout, identify obstacles like tree stumps and debris, and begin scoping clearance work before they’ve set foot on site.

Why Drone Surveys Work for Land Sales

Honest representation

Aerial images show the site exactly as it is, including condition issues that ground photos can obscure

Buyer confidence

Detailed imagery and mapping reduces uncertainty and speeds up decision-making

Planning tool

Orthophoto maps give buyers something they can actually work with, not just look at

Remote viewing

Video flyovers and maps let interested parties assess the site without visiting
