Aerial and FPV Coverage of Aston Martin Nottingham's Silverstone F1 Screening

In July 2025, Aston Martin Nottingham hosted an exclusive live screening of the British Grand Prix at Binks Yard, a riverside venue in Nottingham. I provided aerial and FPV drone coverage alongside a ground-level videographer, delivering event footage in both landscape and vertical formats for use across Aston Martin Nottingham’s marketing channels.

Delivered

The Event

Aston Martin Nottingham — part of the Sytner Group and awarded Global Dealer of the Year — brought together clients and enthusiasts at Binks Yard to watch the Silverstone race live. Aston Martin vehicles on display, a riverside setting, and the atmosphere of a race day watch party. The brief was to capture the scale, energy, and premium feel of the event from the air while a separate videographer covered crowd reactions and ground-level moments.

What I Captured

Wide establishing shots showing the full venue layout, including a river-crossing reveal — flying over the water to open up the event space and place it in the context of the Nottingham riverside. Closer aerial passes picking out the cars on display, the screening setup, and the crowd watching the race. And an FPV tour of the event weaving through the venue, capturing the energy and layout in a single continuous sequence.

Working as Part of a Team

This project is a good example of how drone operation integrates with a wider production crew. While a dedicated videographer handled crowd reactions and ground-level coverage, I focused on aerial and FPV work. The two complement each other — ground footage captures the personal, human moments while aerial and FPV provides scale, context, and visual impact.

For event clients working with an existing videographer, I can slot in as a specialist drone operator. For clients who need the full package, I handle both.

Multi-Format Delivery

All footage was delivered in both landscape and vertical formats. Landscape for website, YouTube, and LinkedIn. Vertical cuts for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and Stories. For event content especially, vertical delivery matters — attendees share on mobile-first platforms, and delivering both formats from a single shoot means maximum use from every piece of footage.

Drone Coverage and Trailer Production for Nashville Days Country Music Festival

Nashville Days is a community-run country music festival held at Bridge House Barn in Kibworth, Leicestershire. After selling out in 2024, the festival returned in 2025 and I provided aerial and FPV drone coverage for the event. Alongside the footage delivered for the main event video, I also edited a promotional trailer using my drone footage combined with ground-level clips captured by guests and social media influencers.

Involvement

The Festival

A mix of camera drone and FPV footage covering the full scope of the event. Wide establishing shots showing Bridge House Barn and the festival layout. Closer passes over the crowd, the food stalls, the shopping vendors. Top-down shots of the line dancing. And FPV runs through the festival capturing the energy of the live bands and the atmosphere across the whole site.

The variety matters here — wide shots give context and scale, close-ups bring the viewer into the detail, and FPV ties it all together with movement and energy. Between them, these angles gave the organisers a library of clips to pull from rather than a single locked-off perspective.

Promotional Trailer

As well as delivering raw clips for the main event video, I edited a promotional trailer for the following year’s festival. This combined my aerial and FPV footage with ground-level content shot by attendees and social media influencers — phone footage, crowd reactions, close-ups of the bands.

Mixing professional drone footage with authentic ground-level content works well for festival promotion. The drone work provides the cinematic scale and production value, while the guest footage adds the raw, first-person energy that makes people want to be there. The result is a trailer that feels both polished and genuine.

Why Festival Coverage Works from the Air

Festivals are hard to capture from ground level alone. Drone footage fills the gaps.

Scale

Show the full event in a single shot, not just the stage or the crowd

Energy

FPV movement captures the atmosphere in a way static cameras can’t

Promotion

Aerial footage gives next year’s marketing material instant production value

Context

Place the event in its setting, showing potential attendees exactly what they’re buying a ticket for
